eusebiovic

Agreed - the combination of Rice and Noble is going to be key for us this season.

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-3
Good tactic to have Rice tracking Sigurdsson's runs from deep...he was a bit like a sweeper but when Bernard came on he got behind somebody else - was it Diop?

Noble was better further forward closing down players rather than deep - he has never been a defensive midfielder not an attacking midfielder - somewhere in-between

The best games I can remember him playing have always been in that role - but he has rarely played there

Agree on all the comments re Rice. Important we get him signed up to a new deal soon otherwise he will probably be a Spurs or Chelsea player next season.

A different perspective on the match.
I'm currently in Halkidiki Greece with no chance to see the match on tv.
Tried the BBC 5 live contractural restraints wouldn't allow me to listen on the radio.
Last chance was Everton FC radio.
Success at last but what a biased commentary according to them we didn't deserve to be on the same pitch.
Makes the result even better when you hear biased comments getting rammed down their throats.
Well done you lovely irons.

Brilliant result. Hats off to the vocal support. Just one misgiving: Yarlemenko a bit of a liability when defending. Can’t fault his goals, of course, but concerns about him in tough away games when it’s backs to the walls.

I thought Rice was superb. The first and third goals were very well worked, lot of credit to Obiang's involvement in both of those. Still would like to see us cut out the stupid mistakes and poor marking though but you can't have everything I guess. Overall chuffed with the win though, hope we can build on it.

Not just because we won, but that was a fantastic game of football today and a cracker for the neutrals.

Be a different team once yarmolenko reaches peak fitness and anderson man's up a bit, as both look cracking players.

Rice and obiang were brilliant.

All our goals today were fantastic. Good to see the interplay. Packing the middle of the Park seemed to help too.

The best moment was all the events leading up to Arnie's goal. They'd just finished one of their chants, we took over with Bubbles then a six-pass move and BANG.

Haven't seen us resolve things like since the Boleyn days.

Hope Rice chooses England as he is better than Dier and Henderson!

On TV, West Ham sounded like the home crowd, magnificent support

And last but not least, the away fans were class as always.

Great result and a very decent performance with a lot of excellent individual performances too. Arnautovic class as ever and brilliant for our first. Yarmolenko showing what he’s capable of and glimpses of quality from Anderson too.

Rice and Obiang both had solid games and the defence were a lot better too. Fabianski is a definite upgrade on Adrian. However, Everton were poor.

The league table looks much healthier now and hopefully we can take that confidence into the next few tough games. Nice to enjoy a game for once!

Yeh, hats off to the lot up there. Diff class as usual.
And yeh need to go for the jugular when they're there for the taking.
No playing for time with 20 mins to go.
Gotta drum it into Antonio.

Anyway, Come on you Irons...!!

No Noble = lose to Wolves at home and get a pasting from Shearer.

Noble = win away to Everton and not a peep from Shearer.

I'd rather stick with Noble, if you don't mind.

I thought Moyes came across with a lot of dignity. Nothing like that slob Allardyce.

Re: ⚽ Everton v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-3
Not as many mistakes, no Cresswell or Ogbonna or Reid, and a far better keeper. No Snodgrass to start, fucking bonus.

The mistakes we did make, they missed.

Much improved performance, we just need to lose Noble now and we might turn the corner.

Well done all who went...safe journey back

Great to get first win...can go into next Sunday's game with some much needed confidence.

Will never get used to us playing for time when 3-1 up...getting free kicks and corners in the last few mins and then having 1 in the box is the modern way i suppose...funny to see diop trying to get some of our players into the box for our final corner

We'll beat Chelsea by the same score line and end up overtaking the north london cunts after we beat them in a couple of weeks.

That poster has disappeared.

Probably got out of fossil fuels and into solar power after he read about the ecological disruption rare earth mining can cause.

Needs to reinvent himself before he comes back.

Finally a Monday at work where I can go in with my head held high smirking at the Tottenham fans in the office.
